Close the Gap
The SNAP Gap Initiative supports single mothers whose SNAP benefits were reduced during the shutdown and who now face higher grocery costs and pressure to create meaningful holiday meals.
We provide $250 Kroger gift cards, which typically cover up to two weeks of groceries for a family of three, and Strong With Mom matches every donated card up to $10,000, doubling the impact. Running through December 31, the initiative helps relieve financial strain so mothers can breathe easier and their children can experience the warmth and dignity every family deserves.
We’re Just Getting Started!
Together, we’re creating a community where single moms can rise, rebuild, and thrive.
This is just the beginning. As Strong With Mom grows, we’ll be offering events, workshops, and opportunities designed to help single moms build skills, find support, and rediscover their strength.
This page is our first step, but with your help, it will grow into something that changes lives. Whether you’re a mom looking for encouragement or someone who wants to make a difference, we invite you to be part of this journey from the ground up.

A Mother’s Strength, a Foundation of Support
Rebecca Montgomery founded Strong With Mom in 2025, a new nonprofit organization that equips single mothers with practical tools, emotional support, and community-based empowerment. Inspired by her journey raising two daughters on her own in Orange County, California, Montgomery is blending lived experience with entrepreneurial expertise to make a direct impact on mothers.
A career businesswoman, Montgomery worked her way from managing college bookstores to becoming a company controller in commercial construction, then launching her own bookkeeping firm. She did all of it while raising her daughters, Morgan and Cassandra, and caring for extended family—often quietly working behind the scenes and rarely asking for help.
“People don’t get to see all the daily struggles that define single motherhood,” Montgomery says. “Filling out a FAFSA while cooking dinner. Turning an office into a child’s bedroom. Juggling a paycheck and a panic attack. I created Strong With Mom for the women living that life right now—so they feel seen and supported, and leave each workshop stronger than when they walked in.”

Upcoming
Events, New, Workshops and Our Podcast
Rebecca and the Strong With Mom team are so excited to bring this vision to life through upcoming events, workshops, and the launch of our very own podcast. These experiences will celebrate strength, share practical wisdom, and create real connections — the kind that remind single moms they’re not alone. Each event and episode will be a space to learn, laugh, and grow together as our community continues to take shape.
We’d also love to feature you. If you’re a single mom, or the child of one, we invite you to be part of our podcast and share your story. The show will include conversations with single mothers, kids who were raised by them, Rebecca and her daughters, and others helping to build Strong With Mom from the ground up. Your story has the power to inspire someone else — and we’d be honored to help you tell it.
